Pencil

During this in class assignment we used Adobe Illustrator to create a pencil. Despite how easy this looks it was not. This requires time spent on tedious adjusting and carefully shaping. One specific tool we were introduced to was the path tool which allowed us to create any shape we wanted. After shaping we needed to color in the pencil and line up the various rectangles, ovals, and other shapes.

Elephant

For this in class assignment we worked on coloring an shaping using Adobe InDesign. The sample is an elephant which we colored and adjusted using selection tools and the color brushes and swatches. Alternating between the colors and shapes was necessary.

Colored Boxes

In this assignment I created an assortment of boxes using different gradients, colors, blends, transparencies, and the mesh tool using Adobe InDesign. The end product is a creative mix of shapes and colors.

Green turtle

In this in class assignment in InDesign where I made a news article using selected text and pictures which I downloaded from blackboard. After selecting these I cropped the images to fit and then I moved the text into three separate columns. This assignment also required me to adjust the pictures, understand font sizing and wrapping the text around the image.

Infographic

This is my infographic which I created using Adobe Illustrator. In this assignment I first sketched out roughly what format and type of infographic I wanted to make. After deciding on a horizontal look I chose a topic. Messi vs. Ronaldo. the greatest matchup in soccer. The two best players of all time. The next step was to select a background image. Once I chose the Champions League logo as the background image I chose the fonts and font colors. Yellow seemed to work well with the blue and black background. After this I simply copy and pasted the images of Messi and Ronaldo and adjusted their images to fit under their stats.

Soccer

In this assignment I selected an image and cropped in the soccer players leg. I cut out the extra background details from the leg and cleat. Then I colored and shaded in the side of the leg to make it seem more real on the picture.

Beach

In this in class assignment I photoshopped five images into a background image of the beach. To create the illusion of having these images them like they are actually int he picture, i used different selection tool, embedded pixels, smart objects, color adjustments, and the copy and paste tool.

Alternate Selfs

In this assignment I created an "alternate self", using Photoshop, in which I cropped three images of myself into three separate  boxes. In this I used different tools, color adjustments and filters to make the images stick out more.

Logo

In this assignment I created a logo to describe me. I incorporated my first initial, my last name and my favorite number. I also used the colors of my favorite sports team. (New York Islanders). Using
the Gestalt Principles I created a logo which is balanced, creative and unique.

Movie Poster

This is my poster assignment I created using different fonts, gradients, colors, contrasts, and other editing tools. I chose to make mine a horizontal poster for the movie "The Ritual." This is a dark movie both in tone and color so I wanted to reflect this in my work. Using a creepy/ raw font was the first step. The next step was to paint the font in a blood red to display an uneasy feeling about the movie.
